Insurance Checkup

03 Nov

When was the last time you reviewed your car insurance? Here at JCC we always have our customers best interest in mind and not having enough coverage can end up costing you more in the long run. We wanted to pass along some helpful advice regarding insurance coverage; it might be worth it for you to review your insurance policy and find out exactly what is included in your coverage.

Uninsured/Underinsured motorist? More and more often we are seeing customers come in that have been involved in an accident with someone who does not have insurance. Although you may have enough coverage to repair your vehicle, you should make sure that you are covered if there were an injury induced from the accident as well.

Rental Coverage? The average cost to rent a car while your vehicle is being repaired is around $28.00 a day. Sometimes adding rental coverage to your policy can save you money if you are in need of a rental after a collision. Check with your company and compare their rates for rental coverage with what you could be spending if you were involved in an accident.

Comprehensive? We frequently have people coming in with either hit and run damage, vandalism/theft, hitting an animal or good old Mother Nature doing damage (Hail, tree limbs etc.) to their vehicle. Do you have coverage so that you don’t end up paying out of pocket for something that was done to your car, which is entirely out of your control?

These are just a few things to check. It is crucial that you read over your policy carefully so that you are fully aware of what you are paying for and you will know exactly what you are covered for.
