Government Uses Female Crash Test Dummies

30 Mar

For the first time ever, the government is using female dummies in crash tests and the results are quite surprising. These dummies are significantly smaller than male dummies used previously in crash safety tests at almost a foot shorter (4”11′ vs. 5”9′). The results show that women run a greater risk in being hurt in frontal and side crashes in the front passenger seat. Their air bags can cause their necks to snap back and do not deflate the same as they typically do on a larger person.

Car safety ratings will now require a rating for female front passengers. Make sure to check out both ratings before buying a vehicle!
