How To Clean and Protect Leather Seats

13 Jun

Every new car owner knows there’s nothing better than that new car smell. But if you’ve had your vehicle for awhile and still want to keep it smelling fresh and clean, the seats are a great place to start. If you have leather seats it is very important to keep them well maintained. In the video below, Howcast, has a great step by step tutorial on how to clean and protect leather seats.

Here’s what you need:

Vacuum Optional
Leather Cleaner Lemon Juice
Sponge Cream of tartar
Dry Cloths
Leather Conditioner

First you’ll want to vacuum each seat thoroughly. Then, apply leather cleaner to a dry sponge and gently rub onto each seat. A combination of lemon juice and cream of tartar can be used for tough stains that won’t come out with just the leather cleaner. Dry the seat with a clean cloth and repeat on every seat in the vehicle. Lastly, apply leather conditioner and allow to dry. Voila! You’ve got squeaky clean seats. Just be sure to use caution the next time you get in your car so you don’t go sliding off of them!
